HOME OCCUPATION APPLICATION PER § 156.004 CHECKLIST 

An occupation conducted within a dwelling unit, as a secondary use, which is incidental to the principal residential use, provided that:

 

___1. No person other than members of the family residing on the premises  

      shall be engaged in such occupation.

___2. The occupation or profession shall be conducted entirely within the   

      principal residential structure. No home occupation or storage  

      related thereto shall be conducted in an accessory building.

 

     ___3. No more than 25% of the total combined floor area of the dwelling

           unit, basement areas, and attached garage within the structure

           shall be used in the conduct of the home occupation.

___4. There shall be no retail sales on the premises.

___5. There shall be no change in the outside appearance of the building      

      or premises, or other visible evidence of the conduct of such home  

      occupation other than one sign, not to exceed two square feet in  

      area and non-illuminated.

___6. There shall be no outside storage of equipment or materials used in

      such home occupation.

___7. The home occupation shall not generate any atmospheric pollution,

      light flashes, glare, odors, noise, vibration, or truck or other

      heavy traffic.

___8. Any need for parking, generated by the conduct of such home

      occupation shall meet the off­ street parking requirements as

      specified in this chapter, and shall not be located in a required

      front yard.

___9. Permitted uses shall meet the off-street parking requirements as

      specified in this chapter, and shall not be located in a required

      front yard.

___10. Non-permitted uses shall include, but not limited to the

       following: Retail sales of any kind or nature, catering services,

       processing, and storage.
